This course offers a structured introduction to the fundamentals of pole dance. It is designed for adults with no prior experience in the discipline. Instruction progresses at a steady pace, emphasizing safety, body control, and foundational techniques. The course is open to all individuals aged 16 and over, regardless of gender.
The course includes the following content:
- Basic pole handling and movement: Learn how to approach and grip the pole, basic walking techniques, simple turns like the 360 spin, and an introductory pirouette. These elements form the foundation for movement on the pole.
- Introductory spins: Practice common beginner spins such as the chair spin, fireman spin, and back hook spin. These exercises build coordination and body awareness.
- Climbing techniques: Learn basic methods for climbing the pole and explore variations to develop strength and control.
- Pole sits: Explore different ways to sit on the pole safely and effectively, including several seated position variations.
- Forearm stand (elbow stand): Introduction to the forearm stand and progressive exercises to build up the necessary strength and stability.
- Helicopter move: Learn the technique behind this classic pole movement and how to perform it with proper form and control.
- Inversion basics: Begin foundational training for inverted moves, focusing on strength-building and preparatory exercises.
The course provides a safe and supportive environment for anyone interested in trying pole dance. The focus is on building a solid technical base for continued practice and progression in the discipline.
